Kiribati
has two Radio Broadcasting stations, Radio Kiribati Station broadcasting on MW
846, 9.825 MHz and FM89 station, both relay World News from Radio Australia,
Radio New Zealand and the BBC respectively everyday followed by the Local News
Bulletin.
There is no newsagent, but limited
copies of overseas papers and magazines are available. Marshall Island Journal,
Pacific Islands Monthly and Islands Business magazines are sold in some
shops. Kiribati has three national Newspapers ‘Te Uekera’, the ‘Newstar’
and ‘Te Mauri,’ which are 85% in local vernacular, and are sold in local
stores.
Television in Kiribati is broadcasted by the Telecom Kiribati
Limited relaying Australian ABC – Asia Pacific News and
CNN.
