Christmas IslandTOURIST ACCOMMODATIONS
There are
16 tourist accommodations comprised of hotels, motels and guesthouses
recommended by the National Tourism Office in Kiribati. 9 are on Tarawa, 5
on Christmas Island, and one on Butaritari. It is important to have a secure
booking before arrival. Reservations can either be arranged through the
Kiribati National Tourism Office or by contacting the hotels directly.
Numerous guest houses can be found on the majority of other
islands provided on arrangement with the island councils. Although they may not
be of international standard, they do present an interesting opportunity to
experience life on the outer island without modern conveniences. The
accommodation facilities are very basic and tariff is around $30.00 per night.
If you wish to visit our outer islands, the Kiribati National Tourism Office may
assist you in radioing ahead your arrival and reservation.
